Samsung Begins Rolling Out One UI 8.5

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 8.5, its latest Android-based software update, beginning with the Galaxy S25 series and foldables before expanding to older devices.

The headline additions are AI-focused. Call Screening lets Bixby answer unknown numbers, ask who’s calling, and show a live transcript so you can decide whether to pick up. Bixby also becomes more agentic, handling multi-step tasks across apps from a single plain-language request, such as finding a recent photo and emailing it to a contact.

The update is reaching a wide range of devices, including the Galaxy S24 and S25 series, the Z Fold and Z Flip lines, recent Tab S models, and the last three generations of Galaxy A-series phones. The rollout is staggered by region and device, so availability is expanding throughout the month.
